Several areas, particularly in the Otjozondjupa Region, have experienced significant rainfall this week — and more is expected in the coming days.
Otjiwarongo and Otavi in the Otjozondjupa Region, along with Tsumeb in the Oshikoto Region, are among the places that recently received rainfall. Many social media users have shared photos and videos capturing the showers, showcasing cloudy skies and heavy downpours in these areas.
According to meteorologist Vilho Ndeunyema, more rainfall is expected in various parts of the country, especially the northern regions. He attributed this to a low-pressure system dominating the north and highlighted Etosha National Park and the north-western areas as likely to receive more rain.
Rainfall is also expected beyond the northern regions. Several places in the Otjozondjupa Region are likely to see more showers, as well as some central areas such as Windhoek. Meanwhile, the southern parts of the country – which experienced heavy showers over the past weekend – are unlikely to receive much, if any, rainfall in the coming days.
