
One of Khomas region’s largest constituencies, Samora Machel, will see nine political parties contesting against each other in the regional and local authority elections.
This follows the conclusion of the nomination submission on Thursday at the constituency office.
This was confirmed by the Electoral Commission of Namibia Samora Machel constituency returning officer Simon Sheya on Thursday.
The names of the candidates are:
Johannes Amateta of the Popular Democratic Movement (PDM)
Sem Amunyela of the Body of Christ Party (BCP)
Renchia Gaes of the Landless People’s Movement (LPM)
Nevel Hoka of the National Unity Democratic Organisation (Nudo)
Naango Kanime of the Swapo Party
Michael Patrick of the Independent Patriots for Change (IPC)
Samuel Jusias of Affirmative Repositioning (AR)
Abed Uirab of the United Democratic Front (UDF)
Paulus Nghilifavali of the Namibia Planned Parenthood Association (Nappa).
