The Namibian Police (NamPol) have reported several recent housebreaking incidents in various parts of the country.
One of these incidents occurred in Rehoboth on Friday and involved the theft of items valued at over N$20,000.
According to the police, the suspect(s) damaged the main entrance door of the house using an unknown object to gain entry. A number of items, valued at N$22,700, were stolen. No recovery has been made to date, and the suspect(s) remain unknown. Police investigations are ongoing.
Another housebreaking incident took place in Khomasdal, Windhoek, also on Friday.
It is alleged that an unknown suspect broke the bathroom window, gained entry, and stole various items, including a MacBook, a Huawei mobile phone, and three pairs of shoes. According to the police, the total value of the stolen goods is estimated at N$23,000. No recoveries or arrests have been made at this stage.
In a separate incident, the police reported a housebreaking case involving the theft of items worth over N$40,000 in Olungalunga village, Olulongo.
According to the police, the incident occurred between 6 July and 10 October 2025, while the residents were in Swakopmund.
“Upon their return on 10 October 2025, they discovered that their house had been broken into by an unknown suspect. The suspect cut through the window burglar bars using an unidentified object and gained entry into the house,” the police reported.
The stolen items include a fridge, stove, set of pots, bed sheets, blankets, washing buckets, clothes, traditional baskets, plates, cups, and plastic chairs. The police revealed that the total value of the stolen goods is estimated at N$41,980. No items have been recovered and no arrests have been made so far.
