UPDATE: Family spokesperson Willem Stoffels, representing the late Juanita Karolus, a 33-year-old woman who was found murdered and raped in the capital’s Damara location on Friday, 3 October 2025, has said that DNA samples were taken from three persons of interest who were taken in for questioning in relation to the rape and murder case. Stoffels further added that it was established that the body of the late Karolus was merely moved to the location behind People’s Primary School and that the murder/rape incident had happened elsewhere. The cause of death was due to suffocation. Currently, the family is busy with funeral arrangements in Keetmanshoop for the late Karolus, who has left behind a 13-year-old daughter.
