Inside ODM’s Crucial October 27 Meeting: Three Agendas That Could Shape the Party’s Future
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has scheduled its Central Committee meeting for Monday, October 27, 2025.
Speaking on Thursday, October 23, ODM Deputy Party Leader Abdulswamad Nassir announced that the meeting would be chaired by acting ODM leader Dr. Oburu Odinga.
The Mombasa Governor explained that the meeting will focus on three key issues; preparations for upcoming by-elections, the ODM at 20 celebrations, and progress updates on the 10-point agenda jointly signed by ODM and the UDA party.
“There will be a meeting on Monday, chaired by Dr. Oburu Odinga, who is the acting party leader. The agenda of the meeting will have three items. The first agenda item will focus on the upcoming by-elections, since our opponents currently hope that we will fall apart and fail to secure victory.
“The second agenda item will be the ODM 20th anniversary celebrations, and the third will be to get an update on the progress of the ten issues we agreed with the government,” said Governor Nassir.
He explained that ODM will ensure that Raila Odinga’s legacy is protected by ensuring the party’s victory in the forthcoming by-elections and in implementing the 10-point agreement with the government.
Governor Nassir also revealed that ODM will hold a Parliamentary Group meeting to resolve internal disparities and come up with a unified path forward.
“After the Central Committee has met, we will convene ODM Members of Parliament, Senators, and Governors together with the party leadership so that we can agree on the direction we should take,” the ODM Deputy Party Leader added.
