Former president Nangolo Mbumba on Friday paid tribute to businessman John Savva at his memorial service at Walvis Bay.
Savva died on 11 October and will be buried at the coastal town on Saturday.
He also served as the honorary consul for Cyprus and Greece in Namibia.
“We are here today to pay tribute and celebrate a life of great significance, a life well lived and full of accomplishments,” Mbumba said during the service.
He described Savva as a man of purpose, talent and self-belief.
Mbumba said Savva lived a life committed to the growth of the development of Walvis Bay and Namibia at large.
“Indeed, not many leave behind a legacy of such commitment and accomplishment,” he said.
