JUBA, South Sudan — The Government of South Sudan has released long-awaited salaries for civil servants, organised forces, and state transfers after several months of delay, the Ministry of Finance and Planning announced Thursday.
In a one-page statement seen by The Juba Mirror News Desk, the ministry said it was “pleased and honoured” to inform all spending agencies, ministries, commissions, departments, and the public that processing and payments for October 2025 salaries have been successfully completed.
“As of today, Oct. 24, 2025, all salaries for spending agencies have been posted to their respective accounts, ready for payment to civil servants, organised forces, and for transfer to states and administrative areas,” the statement read.
The ministry attributed the timely release of salaries to “strict directives” from President Salva Kiir, conveyed through Vice President Bol Mel, who chairs the Economic Cluster. The directives require that monthly salaries be paid no later than the 24th day of each month.
“This pronouncement of successful processing of salaries on this 24th day is a fundamental economic testament to our unwavering commitment to the president’s directives,” the statement continued.
The Ministry of Finance and Planning reaffirmed its commitment to regular salary payments and pledged to continue implementing economic reforms to support recovery, service delivery, and sustainable growth.
The statement was signed by the ministry’s undersecretary in Juba.
