SOCIAL activist Sean Gariseb, who has been at the forefront of activism related to the water and electricity struggles faced by many Katutura residents, may soon be facing jail time after a criminal case was opened against him for vandalism. This follows an incident in which the activist dumped sewage at the City of Windhoek’s Customer Care Centre office last week.
“A criminal case has apparently been made against me, and the police officers are looking for me at my workplace. I told them I’ll hand myself over. I asked them who made the case, because the COW can’t do that without a resolution. They said it’s the City Police,” Gariseb said in a statement.
He added that the case is for throwing “kak” at the City of Windhoek Customer Care Centre after the City allegedly ignored residents for years when they raised concerns about sewage-ridden streets.
He further stated that since the incident, the COW has started clearing blockages in Nama 10 and other areas across Windhoek.
