A 27-YEAR-OLD man, identified as Haufiku Tuhafeni Cornelius Kenendi, lost his life after being run over by a garbage truck in Walvis Bay.
According to the Erongo Police, the incident occurred at the dumping site in Walvis Bay. The police revealed that Kenendi was with his colleague, who was driving the truck, which belongs to Scrap Metal.
When the colleague drove away from the dumping site, Kenendi was not on board. He thus attempted to catch up with the moving truck but fell to the ground, and the truck’s rear wheels ran over him.
Medics from St. Gabriel attended to the scene and transported him to the state hospital, where he was declared dead.
His next of kin have been informed.
