TWO girls, aged one of four, lost their lives in a housefire in Swakopmund’s DRC.
“According to a neighbour, he alleged that while he was sleeping, he saw the fire in his ghetto. He ran outside. While he was outside, he saw another ghetto on fire too, and the door of that ghetto was locked. He kicked open the door, and the seven-year-old child came out unharmed, leaving the two other children in the burning ghetto,” the Erongo Police revealed.
According to the police, the neighbour attempted to save the other two children but was unsuccessful.
“The mother of the children was not at home during the time of the incident. She only returned home later, after the fire was already extinguished by the fire brigade,” the police revealed.
The cause of the fire is still unknown. The children’s next of kin are informed.
