ELIAS “Small Boy” Haifete, who was jailed for the murder of 39-year-old Namibian woman, Fiina Nghifikwa, in a rental scam, appeared in the Katutura Magistrate’s Court today, with the case being postponed to 26 February 2026.
Haifete is accused of luring the deceased, Nghifikwa, on 22 July 2025 to Kigali Street, Wanaheda, under the pretext of viewing a room for rent. He then allegedly robbed Nghifikwa and another female victim of their cellphones at gunpoint. During the robbery, he shot the deceased. Nghifikwa was rushed to the clinic but was declared dead upon arrival at the Katutura/Black Chain Clinic.
The family of the late Nghifikwa stood in solidarity in front of the Katutura Magistrate’s Court, holding a protest and demanding justice for her.

Haifete, who remains behind bars, is also linked to a serial robbery gang and was arrested in Windhoek’s Lafrenz Industrial/Monte Christo area after an intelligence-led police operation in July, alongside other suspects, including Amon Henghali, Lukas “Big Show” Simon, Pinehas Induwa, and Lotto Haindongo.
They are charged with a string of robbery cases, including a robbery at Namcor Service Station in Soweto in April 2025; a cash-in-transit robbery at Choppies, Katutura, in May 2025; a robbery at Namcor Service Station in Khomasdal in July 2025; a robbery at Lafrenz Total Service Station in July 2025; and the murder of Nghifikwa, who was killed in Wanaheda in late July 2025.
Lukas “Big Show” Simon was previously arrested for the August 2023 murder of Patrick Hamupunda in Windhoek.
It is alleged that the above spate of crimes occurred after Haifete was granted bail of N$15,000 in December 2024.
The public prosecutor in the murder case of Nghifikwa said that investigations in the matter are incomplete and requested that the case be postponed to 26 January 2025.
With regard to the robbery and possession of firearms without a valid licence, the public prosecutor said that investigations are ongoing and requested that the case be postponed to 26 February 2026. The prosecutor also requested legal aid assistance for accused five, Lotto Haindongo, and that he provide his DNA sample.
The accused were all remanded in custody.
