Many people welcomed the change in weather with enthusiasm, with photos and videos of the recent rainfall widely shared online – highlighting Namibians’ enduring appreciation for rain.
While the heaviest showers so far have been concentrated in the south and east, the first few days of this week will likely see the focus shift northwards.
Forecasts indicate consistent rainfall in the northern regions – a welcome relief after last week’s sweltering heatwave, during which some northern areas saw temperatures soar to 40°C or higher. Namibia Meteorological Services highlighted Rundu and Ondangwa as among the northern locations expected to receive steady rainfall this week, persisting until at least Wednesday.
