A MANHUNT is underway in Windhoek following a cash-in-transit incident that occurred on Wecke Street, Wernhil Park, at 11:30 today.
Members of the public are urged to help trace the culprits and bring them to book.
It is alleged that five suspects attacked a cash-in-transit vehicle and got away with N$380,000.
It is alleged that a Southern Cross Security vehicle, with four guards, was reversing to drop off money for the ATMs.
The guards got out with one box of money, but before entering the building, they were met by four unknown armed men who pointed a firearm at them, fired shots at the wall, the vehicle door and the floor, disarmed the guards and took the money.
According to the police, the suspects fled the scene in a charcoal grey Mazda Demio (N101038W).
No one was injured, and no arrests have been made yet.
Anyone with information on the incident or the suspects’ whereabouts is requested to contact the nearest police station.
