The Presidency has disclosed that President Bola Tinubu is in talks with Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State.
Tinubu’s spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this via his Facebook page after a closed-door meeting between the president and Yusuf.
According to Onanuga: “President Tinubu in talks with Governor Abba Yusuf.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, after a closed-door meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Monday.”
Tinubu met with Yusuf in his office at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday.
The meeting was held amid rumours of Yusuf planning to defect from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Yusuf’s move is causing some uncertainty in the NNPP, with the party’s national leader, Rabiu Kwankwaso, denying claims of endorsing the defection.
