Justice Funsho Lawal of the Kwara State High Court in Ilorin on Monday sentenced three persons to death for armed robbery and kidnapping offenses.
The convicts are Patrick Afedia Adams, Tijani Usman, and Ahmed Muhammad.
The offences were committed against Mr. Olubunmi Komolafe and his wife, Mrs. Adeola Morenikeji, at their farm in Ilorin metropolis.
Delivering judgment on the matter, Justice Funsho Lawal said that the convicts were sentenced on a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy, rape, armed robbery, and kidnapping.
He stated that on 15th June 2025, at Kanjile Village via Kulende area, Ilorin, the convicts robbed the complainants, kidnapped the wife into a secluded place, and demanded a N5 million ransom.
The judge narrated how the convicts tied up the complainants, while one of them, Tijani Usman, raped Mrs. Adeola Morenikeji mercilessly.
