A TEN-YEAR-OLD boy tragically lost his life after a truck drove over him while he was sleeping under a tree in Oshamakaka village, in the King Nehale area.
Police have identified the child as Mateus Kristian Wapota.
According to the police, it is alleged that a 46-year-old man was driving the truck while involved in electricity wiring works in the village. While reversing, the driver allegedly ran over the ten-year-old, who was sleeping in the shade of a tree.
The child died at the scene. The police confirmed that his next of kin have been informed.
