TUESDAY’S rain showers affected multiple regions from the north to the south, with some areas recording more than 50 millimetres (mm) of rainfall.
The Otjozondjupa Region continues to stand out as an area particularly favoured by recent showers. Okahandja, in particular, recently experienced heavy rainfall, recording over 85 mm between Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Other parts of Otjozondjupa were also affected, including Otavi, Grootfontein, and Osona Village, which received 6 mm, 14 mm, and 16 mm of rain respectively on Tuesday.
Rain showers also occurred in Windhoek on Tuesday, with some parts of the capital recording as little as 3 mm of rain, while others saw around 15 mm. The showers also extended to Windhoek’s surrounding areas, with Elisenheim and Omeya recording around 10 mm each on Tuesday.

Northern Namibia also witnessed additional showers on Tuesday, affecting Tsumeb (10 mm), Ondangwa (16 mm), King Kauluma Village (20 mm), and Namutoni (30 mm).
The south was not spared either. In //Kharas Region, Koës, and Groot Hansa recorded 15 mm and 55 mm of rain respectively between Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
More showers are expected across the country this week. These are likely to become increasingly widespread as the week progresses, affecting more areas from the north to the south.
