Aneline Joakim (40) has been granted bail in the amount of N$1 000 for allegedly stealing two metal beds and a mattress from a school hostel in the Kavango East region.
It is alleged that Joakim, who was stationed at the Divundu Combined School hostel as a security guard, stole the items last week.
She was arrested early last week.
Joakim appeared in the Rundu Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, where her case was postponed to 19 November for further investigations.
This is the second reported case of theft from a school hostel in the same education circuit.
Last month, The Namibian reported that three staff members at the Max Makushe Secondary School hostel have been accused of stealing food meant for pupils.
They allegedly stole hostel polony, sausages, viennas, mince and chicken.
The food was discovered in a fridge at the local market.
Investigating officer inspector Alvin Joseph says investigations have been completed and the docket will be sent to the prosecutor general’s office for a decision.
