Drug claim, gun charge – now Stellies TV doctor accused of causing patient’s death
– A radiologist, Dr. Pieter Henning, already facing a criminal charge and HPCSA inquiry for alleged opioid abuse, is now accused of causing a patient’s death due to a negligently performed pleural drain procedure.
– An ICU nurse’s complaint alleges Henning violently inserted a pleural drain, leading to catastrophic internal bleeding and the patient’s death at MooiMed Private Hospital in Potchefstroom.
– The HPCSA has confirmed it is aware of the new complaint and is preparing for a hearing into allegations of Henning’s impairment, while the hospital has not responded to questions about an internal investigation.
