Murkomen: Ruto to Fulfill Raila’s Dream of First-World Kenya
Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kipchumba Murkomen is confident that President William Ruto will fulfill the transformation reforms he discussed with the late Raila Odinga.
Speaking during a church service in Kisumu County on Sunday, CS Murkomen revealed that President Ruto held discussions with Mr. Odinga on how Kenya can achieve first-world nation status, a vision that the Kenya Kwanza administration will implement.
He disclosed that the two leaders, working within the broad-based government framework, planned to transform national infrastructure as the foundation for reforming Kenya.
“He (Raila) had a big dream and the president has that dream. Where the former Prime Minister left us with the president in the broad-based government it is going to be delivered by a united leadership in the country,” he noted.
“That is the level of conversation we needed to have. I have travelled all over the world and China, America and Europe have developed by building their strong infrastructure and that is what the president is asking of us. We need to pull together as a nation and expand our dreams.”
He added that Kenya cannot continue relying on outdated road networks and small airports if the nation aims to become an industrialized powerhouse.
“You heard the former Prime Minster say that we need to build an airport that reflects the position of Kenya as a nation. So that Kisumu airport can be expanded to become an international airport,” he noted.
The Interior CS emphasized that Kenya will need to revamp its energy and water sectors to guarantee exponential growth.
