
The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the appointment of Area Superintendent of Police, ASP, Eno Nkereuwem Ikoedem as the new Public Relations Officer of the Edo State Police Command.
The announcement was made in a statement on Monday by the Command’s Admin Officer, ASP Emmanuel Nyokema.
Ikoedem, who hails from Akwa Ibom State, becomes the first female spokesperson of the Edo Police Command.
She succeeds former PPRO, Moses Yamu.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in English at the National Open University of Nigeria, NOUN.
According to the statement, ASP Ikoedem has undergone a series of specialised trainings, including the Combat Operation and Counter-Terrorism Course at the Police Mobile Force Training School, Ende Hills, Nasarawa; the Citizenship and Leadership Training at Shere Hills, Jos; the Forensic Analysis Course on Basic Crime Scene Management in Wudil, Kano; and the Basic Detective Course, also in Wudil.
She has served in various operational and administrative roles within the Police Force, where she was noted for her professionalism, discipline and capacity to adapt to demanding tasks.
“Until her new posting as the Police Public Relations Officer, Edo State Command, she served as the Deputy PPRO to two consecutive spokespersons in the Command,” the statement added.
