
Former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has mourned the death of Sheikh Abdullahi Abubakar.
In a statement posted on his verified X handle on Friday, Sani described the Islamic scholar as an iconic symbol of tolerance and courage.
DAILY POST reports that Abdullahi, who famously sheltered 262 Christians during communal violence, has died.
Reacting to his death, Sani wrote, “It’s heartbreaking to receive the news of the death of Sheikh Abubakar Abdullahi.
“Abdullahi was a peacemaker and an iconic symbol of tolerance and courage. He raised the bar for compassion and coexistence in a combative society.May his soul rest in peace.”
