The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology has officially announced the commencement of public admissions to both public and private universities for students from the 2023 and 2024 intakes.
According to a public announcement issued by the Directorate of Admission, Evaluation and Authentication, the collection of application forms will begin on 26 January 2026 and close on 10 February 2026.
The admissions exercise applies to a number of public universities and technical institutions across the country, including the University of Juba, Upper Nile University campuses in Juba and Malakal, the University of Bahr el Ghazal in Wau, Dr. John Garang Memorial University in Bor, and the University of Rumbek.
The admissions also apply to several technical universities and colleges in Bentiu, Torit, Yambio, Aweil, and Kuajok respectively.
Applicants are required to meet the minimum admission criteria, including possession of the South Sudan Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE) for the 2023 or 2024 academic years or its equivalent, National ID, two passport size photos, and 25, 000 South Sudan pounds as an application fee.
On the foreign documents, the ministry stated that only authenticated and equated certificates shall be accepted.
“Candidates seeking admission into bachelor’s degree programmes must have passed at least seven subjects, including Mathematics and English, while diploma applicants must have passed a minimum of five subjects, the statement reads.
The ministry emphasized that students who have already secured direct admission into any public or private university will not be considered under this exercise.

All application centres will close on 10 February 2026 at 4:30 p.m., the statement added./
