THE Minister of International Relations and Trade, Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, is currently in Tokyo, Japan, for an official working visit.
The ministry announced that the minister’s working visit to Japan will conclude on Friday, 23 January 2026. The visit is expected to strengthen Namibia’s bilateral relations with Japan and promote practical cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
“During the visit to Japan, the Honourable Minister is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, as well as representatives of relevant government institutions responsible for trade, investment promotion, infrastructure development, and economic cooperation and the private sector. The discussions will focus on strengthening Namibia-Japan relations and expanding cooperation in trade, investment, infrastructure, logistics and industrial development,” the ministry explained.
Ashipala-Musavyi’s visit to Japan follows a recent trip to Singapore, where she engaged with leaders to explore opportunities for boosting bilateral trade and cooperation between Namibia and Singapore.
