
Stanley Nwabali has reflected on Super Eagles’ win over the Pharaohs of Egypt, DAILY POST reports.
Eric Chelle’s side finished third at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations following a 4-2 penalty shootout win over the Pharaohs.
The game ended 0-0 in regulation time, and they went straight into penalty immediately.
Nwabali saved from Mohamed Salah, Omar Marmoush in the shootout.
It was the ninth time Nigeria will be winning bronze medal in the history of the AFCON.
Nwabali was delighted to see the Super Eagles prevail this time around after their defeat to Morocco in the semi-final.
“Today, the outcome was determined by penalty kicks. The players showed great character and strong discipline. I am very satisfied with my team’s performance and proud of their commitment and the spirit they displayed till the end.”
