JONAS Jonas, a driver who operates on the Oshakati-to-Ongwediva route, has won the public’s applause after he went public looking for an unknown passenger who dropped his cellphone in his car last week.
Jonas said that he picked up the male passenger at Oshakati Pharmacy and that his destination was a gun shop at Ongwediva. However, a short distance later, Jonas changed routes. He dropped the passenger in front of the Oshakati Magistrate’s Court to take another taxi to Ongwediva.
“His cellphone fell inside the taxi as he got off,” said Jonas, adding that the cellphone was afterwards switched off “accidentally” as he struggled to find a way to contact the owner.
“Let the owner come forward. I can still recognise his face and urge him to contact me on 081 303 0302. He must be able to provide details of the phone such as colour, type and brand, and the SIM card’s PIN,” said Jonas.
