The Transmission Company of Nigeria has announced a scheduled maintenance exercise at its Apo 132/33kV Transmission Substation, warning that several areas in Abuja may experience temporary power interruptions.
In a statement on Saturday signed by its General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, TCN said it would carry out “scheduled maintenance on the 60MVA 132/33kV transformer (3APH TR1) and associated switchgear at the Apo Transmission Substation on Saturday, 24 January 2026, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.”
“During the maintenance period, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company will be unable to off-take bulk power for distribution to customers in Gudu District, Gaduwa, Durumi, Printing and Minting, Garki, and environs,” the statement read.
The company assured consumers that the bulk electricity supply would be restored to AEDC immediately upon completion of the work.
TCN also apologised for any inconvenience the maintenance may cause, saying, “We appreciate the understanding of electricity consumers in the affected areas and urge them to plan accordingly.”
