Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has said that President Bola Tinubu is actively addressing the numerous security challenges facing the country.
Ladoja made the statement on Friday after his meeting with President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
He said his visit to Aso Rock was to express gratitude to the President for his support.
The monarch added that since his coronation as Olubadan of Ibadan in September 2025, he had been seeking an opportunity to meet Tinubu in Abuja.
Speaking on Tinubu’s style of governance, Ladoja noted that the President had a record of turning around the economic fortunes of Lagos State while serving as governor.
Commenting on the national economy, the traditional ruler described Nigeria as a complex country but expressed confidence that Tinubu would transform the nation as he did Lagos.
According to the former Governor of Oyo State, Nigeria would be better placed before Tinubu leaves office in 2031.
The traditional ruler maintained that Tinubu knows what he is doing, adding that if he was able to transform Lagos, he would achieve the same for the country.
Oba Ladoja expressed confidence that Nigeria’s current challenges might not have been as severe, emphasizing that the country is far more complex than a single state.
“The states have more money than we had when we were governors. They are able to meet their commitments better than we could back then. The economy is being fixed, and we hope that by 2031, when he leaves office, he will have put Nigeria in a position that all of us will be proud of,” he stated.
