Aston Villa manager, Unai Emery, has claimed his team is “not top five contenders” in the Premier League.
Emery was speaking to the media following a surprise 1-0 defeat to Everton on Sunday.
The loss means Villa missed the chance to cut Arsenal’s lead at the top to four points.
They are now seven points behind the Gunners and still level with Manchester City.
Emery said: “We are not contender to be in the top five. We are still not being contenders.
“There are other teams with more potential than us.”
