LIGHT to moderate showers have been affecting various regions of the country recently, with further rainfall expected on Wednesday, particularly in the northern, central, and eastern areas.
Tsumeb in the Oshikoto Region is among the areas that received notable rainfall recently, recording more than 25 millimetres (mm) of rain in just a few hours on Monday. Other northern areas also experienced showers, although these were lighter in some places. This includes Ondangwa and Outjo, which recorded between 3 mm and 5 mm on Monday.

Several places outside the northern regions also recorded rainfall. Otavi in the Otjozondjupa Region received more than 20 mm on Monday, while Grootfontein, also in the Otjozondjupa Region, recorded around 16 mm. Omaruru in the Erongo Region also experienced a decent downpour, with about 15 mm on Monday. Windhoek saw light showers as well, although most parts of the capital received no more than 5 mm on Monday.
Recent rainfall has been scattered across multiple regions, and forecasts suggest this pattern is likely to continue. According to the Namibia Meteorological Services, more showers are expected in the northern parts of the country tomorrow. In addition, the Khomas and Omaheke regions are also expected to receive some rainfall, although showers are likely to be isolated and scattered.
Meanwhile, the southern regions are bracing for another day of intense heat. According to the Namibia Meteorological Services, the heatwave in the south will persist tomorrow, with several areas expected to experience maximum temperatures ranging between 38°C and 39°C.
