South Sudanese youth leader Adol Ater has urged national and community leaders to help rebuild the Agar community by rejecting ethnic divisions and serving as role models for peace and unity despite many rumors. of Dinka and Nuer conflict
Speaking to community members, Ater said she is proud to be a daughter of the Agar community and thanked elders and leaders for their continued guidance. She reminded leaders of the sacrifices made during the liberation struggle, describing the period as one of hardship when people lacked leadership, stability and basic services.
“We suffered greatly during the war years,” Ater said, recalling a time when communities relied on herbal medicine and lived without civil or military structures. She said South Sudanese are now exhausted by repeated rumors of war and ongoing conflict.
Ater called on leaders to learn from the past and avoid returning the country to instability. She urged them to reject ethnic-based politics and work together to build a peaceful nation.
“This is our time to change our country,” she said. “We now have leaders, and our people deserve peace and stability.”
She also encouraged the Agar community to continue praying for a better future for South Sudan, saying unity and faith are essential for national healing.
“I am a citizen of this country and a daughter of the Agar community,” Ater said. “We must work together for a better South Sudan.”
