A 60-YEAR-OLD female resident of Swakopmund was defrauded of N$67,428.70 on Friday.
The money was withdrawn from her account after an unknown suspect telephoned her and asked her to provide an OTP number that had been sent to her cellphone, which she did.
According to the police, a quick intervention led to some of the money in the victim’s account being frozen by the bank.
The suspect is still unknown.
