Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty invited Pakistani companies to expand their investments in Egypt, citing the country’s improved investment climate and broad opportunities across priority sectors.
These remarks came during the minister’s meeting with heads of chambers of commerce and representatives of Pakistani companies in Islamabad.
During the talks, Abdelatty reaffirmed the long-standing ties between the two countries and called for increased trade, noting Egypt’s readiness to boost its exports to Pakistan in areas such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, food products, fertilizers, and engineering goods.
He also outlined prospects for joint industrial projects, particularly in chemicals, pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, software, and digital services, pointing to the advantages provided by the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
Abdelatty urged the swift reactivation of the joint business council and the chambers of commerce council, stressing that Egypt’s recent economic reforms and flexible exchange-rate policy have strengthened the business environment and improved credit ratings.
He discussed enhancing connectivity between the Suez Canal Economic Zone and Pakistan’s Gwadar Port, including the possibility of establishing a direct shipping route between Gwadar and Sokhna.
