THE Electoral Commission of Namibia has this afternoon announced the election results for twelve more local authorities, bringing the total number to 35 out of the country’s 59 local authorities.
The ruling SWAPO Party has increased its tally from 67 to 108, and the IPC has increased from 20 to 29. The UDF now has 15 elected local authority councillors, PDM 17, LPM 15, NUDO 5, and the BCP and UPM one elected local councillor each. RITMA/Rehoboth has obtained one seat, and A-RTS-N/Gobabis obtained three seats in the 7-seat local council.
The tallies for the AR, RP and NDP remain unchanged at 4, 2 and 1 respectively.
