The Taraba State chapter of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, PASAN, has embarked on an industrial strike over unmet demands.
The strike commenced at midnight on Sunday, November 16, 2025.
The union announced the action in a notice dated November 14 and circulated to all staff of the Taraba State House of Assembly. The memo referenced an earlier communication, tagged PASAN/NS/ADM/01, issued on November 13.
In the statement jointly signed by the chapter chairman, Hamidu Buba, and secretary, Timothy Enganya, PASAN said its members working in the Taraba State House of Assembly would withdraw their services over unresolved grievances with the state government.
According to the union, the strike is driven by two major issues – the non-implementation of financial autonomy for the legislative arm of government and the failure to implement the Consolidated Legislative Salary Structure, CONLESS.
The union directed all assembly employees to stay away from work until further instructions are issued by PASAN leadership.
Despite the industrial action, PASAN reiterated its readiness to engage the state government in dialogue to resolve the impasse.
The association also urged members to remain united and committed to democratic principles as negotiations continue.
