EMMA Angula, the principal of Kandume Combined School, could not contain her joy when she received a telephone call from Old Mutual announcing a donation to her school.
The donation, valued at N$15,000 and consisting, among other items, of a personal computer, several dictionaries, and paper rims, was handed over recently by Nickanor Rubben, Old Mutual’s Regional Manager in the North, who was accompanied by Johannes Nghifindaka, Personal Financial Advisor.

Rubben said that the donation is a way of giving back to the community and meeting the government halfway in the education of Namibian children. He added that the donation should not be viewed as a once-off assistance but rather as the beginning of a continuous and fruitful relationship.
Receiving the donation, Angula said she and her staff will ensure that the donated items are used as intended, namely for the benefit of every learner at the school.
Located in the remote village of Okambuga in the Oshikoto Region, Kandume CS is one of the rural schools with high enrollment, having 1,158 learners and over 40 teachers and institutional workers.
