AN INTENSIVE police investigation launched immediately after a fish shop in Ondangwa was broken into recently has finally yielded the desired results, with the alleged culprits apprehended and some of the stolen items recovered.
Paulus Nangolo (28) and Tangi Martin (31), as well as their alleged accomplice Selma Megameno Niitembu (37), have already appeared in the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court.
Paulus and Tangi allegedly broke into the fish shop in the Onguta area of Ondangwa and stole 38 boxes of four different types of fish — John Dory, Hake, House Mackerel, and Snoek — valued at N$13,600.
According to the police, one box of fish was eventually recovered at the Vibe Pub in the Okangwena informal settlement, thanks to a tip-off from a member of the public. Two other boxes were later found in the house of alleged accomplice Selma Niitembu in the town’s Extension 14.
She faces an additional charge of defeating the course of justice after allegedly removing one box from her deep freeze and hiding it in a car parked in the garage.
