Gunmen have killed a young POS operator and injured several people during an attack in Sodawa village, Ghari Local Government Area of Kano State.
A resident, Mallam Zaharaddin, confirmed that the incident happened late Sunday night.
He explained that the gunmen were suspected armed robbers who trailed the victim after he withdrew money for his business.
“They blocked him on his way and opened fire on him, killing him instantly,” Zaharaddin said.
“After that, they continued shooting and attacked nearby shops.”
Security operatives later arrived at the scene and took the injured victims to the hospital for urgent treatment.
He added that this was not the first time gunmen had struck in the area, which borders Jigawa State.
He said residents have been expressing fear and frustration, calling on the government and security agencies to act quickly to end the growing insecurity in their community.
