I have been observing the reactions on social media following the recent removal of government officials, particularly regarding the vacancy for the press secretary position in the Office of the President.
I see individuals positioning themselves as candidates for the role, seemingly believing that being a community radio presenter in their native language or having a basic grasp of street English qualifies them for this position.
Office of the President is inherently complex and demanding. It requires an individual with a robust media background; whether gained through professional experience or thorough in-house training. The ideal candidate must have a profound understanding of both local and international politics, along with knowledge of diplomatic protocols.
The suitable candidate should possess quick-thinking skills and exceptional oratorical abilities. This individual must possess experience that extends beyond that of a radio presenter or community spokesperson; they must clearly demonstrate a deep understanding of governance and its complexities.
While I know several individuals who could potentially meet these qualifications, I cannot disclose their names, as I do not have the authority to make recommendations.
However, if I had to recommend someone, it would be Wen Akoi James Mamol, as he is a direct and impactful candidate.
