
A residential building has been destroyed by fire in the Hotoro Ring Road area of Nassarawa Local Government Area of Kano State.
The incident, which occurred on Tuesday morning, November 11, 2025, was confirmed by the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, ACFO Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi, in a statement released on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the Service received an emergency call at about 9:20 a.m. from one Alhaji Halliru Ibrahim, who reported the fire outbreak at Hotoro Ring Road, opposite Arewa Surgery.
“Upon receiving the call, our men from Central and Bompai Fire Stations immediately rushed to the scene,” Abdullahi said.
“On arrival, they found a one-storey building measuring about 75 by 100 feet already engulfed in flames.”
He explained that the building contained two bedrooms, two parlours, three toilets, a staircase, balcony, stores, a corridor, and two kitchens all located on the upper floor that was completely affected by the fire.
Abdullahi said three fire jets from the service’s command units were used to put out the fire, while the cause of the incident is still under investigation.
Meanwhile, the Director of the Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Sani Anas, advised residents to always switch off electrical appliances when not in use and to handle fire with caution to prevent outbreaks.
