JUBA-Deputy Governor of South Sudan’s Central Equatoria state, Paulino Lukudu Obede, met on Wednesday with the delegation from the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) to discuss strategies and plans for the upcoming Commissioner’s and Mayors Forum.
The forum is the state’s highest policy platform that brings together local policy actors to Juba to deliberate on a wide range of policy issues around social cohesion, conflict mitigation, peace building, and service delivery to communities.
State Governor Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani assigned his deputy to organize meetings with the UNMISS and other stakeholders to plan for the forum, according to a statement posted on the deputy governor’s Facebook page.
“Key discussions revolved around the forum’s logistics, agenda setting, and stakeholder participation,” partly reads a statement.
Lukudu reiterated the state government’s dedication to making sure the forum is successful while underscoring its importance in promoting sustainable progress.
“The Commissioner’s and Mayors Forum is envisioned as a vital platform to address governance, security, and development challenges across the state while fostering collaboration between local authorities and development partners,” it added.
He expressed gratitude to UNMISS and other partners for their unwavering support in bolstering the state’s governance and improving service delivery.
He emphasized the value of concerted efforts to address the state’s problems and made sure that the forum’s conclusions would be advantageous to all citizens.
