Former Arsenal star, Ian Wright has pinpointed the big mistake the Gunners made during their Premier League 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday.
Recall that Matty Cash gave Unai Emery’s side the lead before Leandro Trossard equalized for Arsenal.
But a late second-half goal from Emi Buendia gave the hosts the victory against Mikel Arteta’s side at Villa Park.
Speaking to Premier League Productions after the game, Wright revealed the mistakes his old club made against Villa.
“I think you have got to look at the substitutions he [Unai Emery] made,” Wright said.
“Malen coming on, offensive, Buendia coming on, offensive, I think that should have been the signal to Arsenal to say, ‘right, ‘let’s shut up shop now because they are going for it’.”
Arsenal are now just two points ahead of second-position Manchester City after the result.
